Delivered at home within 2 hours
At 150 Italian Carrefour stores, the consumer can order online and get their order delivered at home within 2 hours. It will be a free service if consumers order more than 70 euros’ worth of groceries. That means the Italians even go further than the French Carrefour stores. Since November 2014, Carrefour is running a trial with a 2-hour pick-up service in 5 hypermarkets in its home territory of France.
Carrefour’s Belgian online service will not follow suit just yet. Belgian consumers can order online at most of Carrefour’s larger stores, while a dozen have been outfitted with a Drive.be pick-up point where employees will bring your order to your car. For home deliveries, Carrefour is collaborating with Bpost (Combo) although that particular service is only available in Brussels, Flemish Brabant and Walloon Brabant.
Open 24/7
The French supermarket giant has also opened a Carrefour Market in the Corso Europe in Naples, which will be open 24/7. The store, with 75 employees, was designed around the Gourmet formula and will focus on tasty and healthy food.
The Naples store is the fifth Italian Carrefour store which will be open 24/7, trailing in the footsteps of Milan, Turin, Palermo and Vercelli. In total, Carrefour has 1,152 stores in Italy, with 515 of those stores of its own.
