Wim Blaauw, currently Chief Digital Officer at Ingka Group (IKEA), is moving to C&A. Starting in January 2024, he has to accelerate the fashion retailer’s digital transformation.
Transformation in full swing
At Ingka, Ikea’s retail holding company, he has held the same position for three years. Blaauw started as store manager at Ikea in the Netherlands in 2002, rising to become deputy CEO in the United Kingdom and Ireland. As Customer Fulfilment Manager, the Dutchman later oversaw all fulfilment activities worldwide.
Blaauw explains his move by pointing out that the digital transformation at C&A is in full swing, and “I look forward to accelerating that journey with the teams and pushing forward a strong digital and omnichannel agenda”. CEO Giny Boer adds that the European C&A board is now “superbly equipped” to continue building the road that should transform the chain into “a modern, omnichannel fashion retailer”.
