“Internationally known brand”
The material was seized on 12 November, but was only announced today. The European Anti-fraud Office, alongside the Belgian and French customs offices received a tip from an international company, that wanted to “protect its internationally known brand”, the Federal Public Services office of finances said of the unnamed brand.
“The 125,000 packs, destined for retail, have been seized by the customs office in Mons and will be destroyed shortly. This will prevent possible health problems caused by the consumption of non-approved and non-tested coffee.”
