Fashion company Esprit has restructured its shoe and accessory divisions, which will now become one division. This should help align their collections with Esprit’s clothing lines.
Department heads depart
Beate Köhler, with more than 30 years of experience in Esprit’s shoe division, will lead the new division for now. She will report to Senior Vice-President Holger Thiese, who leads the lifestyle division.
Several months after Martin Krist and Anke Ottersbach left the company, Esprit has now joined the two divisions they used to lead. Krist had worked for Esprit for 17 years, while Ottersbach led the accessory division since 2006.
Accessory sales represent 4.8 % of Esprit’s total turnover, while shoes only contribute 3.4 %. Over the first half of the fiscal year, accessory sales also dropped 2.7 %, something Esprit hopes to remedy with the merger of both division, on top of being a huge cost-cutting operation.
