Gone after 1.5 years
Koen Torfs was in charge as NV Huyghebaert’s (the group which owns Prima, Uw Buurtwinkel en Cashwell) managing director since May 2013. He was appointed by the group of family shareholders, which managed to block a take-over from Groep Heylen.
“Koen Torfs has decided by the end of September to leave the company”, the main office in Mechelen confirmed. Torfs was charged in May 2013 to block a Group Heylen purchase and to restructure the company in order to return it to profitability. It is unclear why he has left the company.
André Mathot, son-inl-low of the late Yves Huyghebaert, will succeed Torfs. After his departure, the board of directors consists only of family members.
