Dutch jeans brand Garcia Jeans will expand to Spain, opening its first Spanish franchise store in July, in Bilbao. Recently, the brand has also opened two company-owned stores.
Five million euro in 2020
Garcia Jeans targets a 5 million euro turnover by 2020, which would make Spain its fifth largest market. The Dutch fashion chain is owned by JOG Group and active all across Europe. It has been in Spain since 2016 and Jeans Center’s affiliate brand is particularly successful with its collections for adults.
“Growth mainly comes from our collections for adults, as the children’s market is generally under a lot of pressure. The vertically-aligned chains have put a lot of pressure on pricing”, Martin Mancusi told trade paper Modaes.es. Martin Mancusi also leads the brand’s Spanish division, alongside Hans Koelma.
Own stores and franchise stores
The chain currently has several stores of its own in Spain and is present in another 300 multibrand stores across the country. It wants to speed up its expansion with franchise stores as well..
Over the past few months, new outlet center stores were opened outside of Bilbao and Madrid (Spain) and Almancil and Lisbon (Portugal). However, the denim brand will also open a franchise store in Bilbao in July and other franchise stores in Porto, Aveiro and Tavira. Between March and July, the chain will open another five franchise stores.
