The Dutch Unlimited Footwear Group (UFG), best known for producing shoes for brands such as Levi’s, Gaastra and even GAP, has filed for bankruptcy today.
Major shoe manufacturer
The insolvency proceedings were initiated on 20 February and the Breda court appointed an administrator straight away. UFG makes shoes for numerous brands at home and abroad: the group has its own labels, such as Gaastra and Nubikk, but is best known for its licences.
UFG produces trainers for clothing brands such as Björn Borg, Levi’s, Paul Frank and even American GAP. It also produces private label brands for the Deichmann Group, the owner of VanHaren. Until 2019, UFG also held stakes in Dutch shoe chains Invito and Le Ballon.
