Fashion agency GAB (Group Alain Broekaert), which operates Scotch & Soda‘s Belgian stores, is acquiring the fashion brand’s French branch. The label, now owned by Bluestar Alliance, will also continue to operate in the US.
Retaining shops and jobs
GAB announced the acquisition of Scotch & Soda Retail SAS, the French branch of the Dutch fashion brand. The company guarantees the continuation of its retail activities and job retention. It involves 123 employees in 26 shops (including 3 outlets), 69 shop-in-shops and 10 corners, in addition to 4 franchise shops. As founder of Scotch & Soda Belgium, GAB already owns 25 Scotch & Soda shops in Belgium and Luxembourg.
After filing for bankruptcy in the Netherlands, Scotch & Soda was acquired by US company Bluestar Alliance LLC. The new owner is now realising a relaunch for the majority of the fashion brand’s operations. Besides the Benelux and France, the label’s future also seems assured in the United States, as its operations there are being taken over by a subsidiary of Bluestar Alliance.
