GoFluo is enjoying growing success in Belgium and abroad with its fashionable high-visibility vests. Now, the Antwerp-based start-up is raising one million euros in growth capital.
All the way to the US
High-visibility vests do not need to be unflattering, Belgian designer Julie Vets proves. With GoFluo, she has launched a range of trendy high-visibility vests and accessories. The young brand is now on sale in ten different countries, including the United States.
Its 300 points of sale will soon be joined by Belgian outdoor retailer AS Adventure, the Paris department store Le Bon Marché and the German chain Globetrotter. In the future, Vets plans to focus even more on the United States, she told at the RetailDetail Congress in April.
Five investors
To enable growth, GoFluo aims to get five investors on board: on a turnover of one million euros, GoFluo recorded a loss of 395,000 euros in 2022, Belgian newspaper De Tijd reports. The start-up also ended the year with negative equity of 381,000 euros.
Freshmen, the investment fund of Fiets! founder Hendrik Winkelmans, injected 500,000 euros into the company. Winkelmans has been a shareholder in the company since 2019. Four other business angels are together contributing the remaining half a million.
