Interest from Google
According to Google’s director global foods services Michiel Bakker, Google chose the Dutch retailer because it “appreciates the tasty, healthy, natural and sustainable food La Place offers“. Bakker, who gave an interview to Out of home Shops, is responsible for the food and drinks in over 70 offices across 40 countries.
La Place has opened several international restaurants over the past few years, for example in Belgium or Germany. It will also open a new restaurant on Bali (Indonesia) at the end of May. The retailer had previously revealed that talks were underway to open several international restaurants, partly because of the success it has with its restaurant at Schiphol.
