For existing customers and possible new customers
“Our mobile platform expansion is an important step to continue our growth. Now, we can offer all smartphone users virtual access to a healthy way of life and how to cook delicious meals”, HelloFresh Chief Technology Officer Nuno Simaria said.
HelloFresh wants to hit two targets with its app: to increase the loyalty of its current customers and to ignite a flame of interest with its non-customers, according to HelloFresh Netherlands and Belgium’s Maartje Frederiks. “Our app is intended to show our users, in an easy and uncomplicated way, how much fun it is to cook with HelloFresh. It is also a very interesting app for those non-HelloFresh users, as they can view and prepare all of our recipes at home.”
The group will not reveal how many people have downloaded and used the app over the past few months. “Ever since the HelloFresh app launched on iOS in August 2015, our numbers have steadily grown”, the company said.
It is currently active in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia and the United States. In November alone, it delivered 6.1 million meals worldwide. HelloFresh was founded in Berlin, in 2011 and its current investors are Baillie Gifford, Insight Venture Partners, Phenomen Ventures, Rocket Internet and Vorwerk Direct Selling Ventures.
