Dutch lingerie chain Hunkemöller has been elected “Retail of the Year Europe 2017-2018”. Q&A, which also elects a “Retailer of the Year” in Belgium and the Netherlands, organized the election for the third time.
2.7 million ratings
The European election was organized in ten countries and more than 1.5 million consumers handed out nearly 2.7 million ratings this year. Store chains that won a category award in at least four countries were eligible for an European award. With an average score of 7.95 and 28,730 votes, Hunkemöller can call itself Europe’s best retailer for the next twelve months.
It already won Europe’s best web shop award last year, but it lost that award to Yves Rocher this year. The chain’s web shop got an average score of 7.91.
The local winners had already been revealed: Bol.com won both Retailer of the Year and Web Shop of the Year in the Netherlands. Discounter Action won Best Store Chain of the Year. Hunkemöller also won a prize in the Netherlands, because its CEO, Philip Mountford, won ‘Best Retail Executive’.
Looking at Belgium, Colruyt is the Retailer of the Year and Standaard Boekhandel the “Best Store Chain”. Bol.com also won Best Web Shop of the Year here. JBC won the very first Retail Sustainability Award, an award for the most sustainable retailer.
