Sustainable trainer brand Veja is opening a minimalist shop in Madrid, which also aims to be a venue for events. The shop even has its own shoemaker.
Shoemaker for every brand
After Paris, New York and Berlin, Veja now also has its own shop in Madrid. The sustainable trainer brand is mainly distributed via wholesale in multi-brand shops, but also chooses to have its own flagships in strategic locations to showcase itself.
The latest of these flagship stores has just opened in the artistic district of Justicia. The space was designed to be minimalist and contemporary, with a mix of materials such as wood, bricks and concrete. The team sourced furniture from local antique dealers to add vintage touches. Custom-made neon artwork by Brazilian artist Kleber Matheus brings a touch of modern art.
The 190 sqm space, located on the first floor of a V-shaped building, should evoke the feel of a Spanish courtyard. The brand displays its latest collections of trainers for women, men and children, but there also is a space to host events and a shoe workshop where visitors can have all their trainers and shoes cleaned, repaired and collected, regardless of brand.
