Ken Fontijn has been appointed Zalando Benelux’ country head, replacing Donna Darthuizen who will get a “new role” within Zalando.
Comes from V&D
Fontijn became V&D’s eCommerce manager last summer, but lost his job in the company’s bankruptcy. At the company, Fontijn had to roll out the chain’s new omnichannel strategy, which would have been “mobile first”, based on extensive consumer research. As eCommerce manager, he was not part of V&D’s management team, despite his predecessors having such a position.
Prior to that, Fontijn worked for Coolblue for 7 years as its business unit manager and product manager & buyer, and he also has a past with Free Record Shop.
