French clothing chain Kiabi will open its fifth Belgian store in the Westland Shopping Center in Anderlecht. This will become its largest Belgian store to date, spread across 1,800 sqm.
Online reservations and children’s play area
Kiabi opened its fifth Belgian store on 17 February, about 18 months after the North French discount fashion chain entered the market. The new store is located on Westland Shopping Center’s first floor and is also its third Brussels-based store, following stores in shopping centers Docks Bruxsel and The Mint. Kiabi targets the entire family and uses an 1,800 sqm experience formula in the Westland Shopping Center. Shoppers can leave their children in a play area, can recharge their smartphone near the fitting booths and browse a virtual catalog.
“We use hybrid store formulas catered to the local customers’ behaviour and desires. This formula has become a habit for our customers, choosing home delivery whenever a product is not available in stores”, country manager Aalrik Van Straten said. That is why you can track online reservations in every Belgian Kiabi store. You can also place orders or check up on another store’s stock.
200 employees in Belgium
Kiabi Westland will employ fourty people, which were all found during a speedjobdating event in January. That is a new approach, which gives candidates seven minutes to convince their potential employer of their qualities and personality. The group now has 200 employees across its five Belgian stores.
The chain, founded in 1978 in Northern France, has fashion for all sizes and generations, from babies, children to (pregnant) women and men. The French market leader employs 10,000 people across fifteen countries with 493 stores, including 151 outside of France.
