When Delhaize announced it would close down several stores, people went on strike and labour unions have said they might to go on strike once more to protect their workers as they feel Delhaize is taking unnecessary steps.
The company disagrees and states that it won’t change its stance: 2,500 people will have to go and new wage and working conditions have to be discussed. It aims to save costs because of increased competition.
