Jeans brand Levi’s will launch a new jacket next year, one that is riddled with sensors developed by Google‘s Project Jacquard. The jacket can be connected to, among other things, a smartphone.
Built-in sensors
Levi’s collaboration with Google was announced a year ago and the result was shown several days ago. Levi’s’ jacket will contain sensors which allow the wearer to perform several tasks using hand signals. One such is example to operate music coming from a smartphone.
The jacket can also give feedback through vibrations, to point out directions when following a GPS or to notify the wearer when a message arrives on his smartphone.
A limited run will be sold before the end of the year, but the full release for this “connected” piece of clothing will be sometime next year.
