Luxury jeans brand Jacob Cohën is opening a flagship store in Antwerp. It’s the Italian chain’s third store in Belgium.
Tight with colourful accents
Jacob Cohën has had a successful launch of its first two Belgian flagship stores in fashionable seaside resort Knokke, where the brand runs one boutique for men and one for women. Now Antwerp is next. The new boutique was opened on April 4th in the Oudaan, at the edge of trendy Antwerp shopping area Wilde Zee.
The store is decorated in a sleek style that fits with the brand’s clothing items, explains store manager Jean Charles Lowet de Wotrenge. “The Antwerp store’s clean interior is marked by gold-copper accents and four colourful loungers, all made with the same pony hair you can find in some of the signature patches on the trousers.”
Hand-made production on screen
Behind the register is a large screen showing the production process, since this aspect is very important to the brand. Every item is hand-made in a workshop in the Italian region of Veneto. As such, every piece of clothing is a unique and authentic piece, boasts the brand. Each pair of Jacob Cohën trousers has a signature patch on its backside, an artistic detail made from natural material such as pony hair or snake leather, which differs for each pair.
Today, the chain has 450 outlets in Italy and now also runs stores in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Switzerland, Scandinavia, the former Soviet nations, the United Arab Emirates, Japan and North America. The luxury brand was founded in 1985 by Tato Bardelle with a jeans collection. Today, Jacob Cohën also offers other kinds of clothing items, both for men and for women.
