American fashion label Michael Kors appointed Thomas J. Edwards as its new CFO, succeeding Joseph B. Parsons who will leave the company in August after thirteen years. Edwards will join the team immediately.
Proven leader
Edwards will not only become CFO, but also take on the responsibilities of three other positions: COO, executive vice president and treasurer. He has spent his career in similar positions, most recently at restaurant firm Brinker International, where he had been CFO since March 2015. Previously, he worked for hotel group Wyndham Worldwide in various positions between 2007 and 2015.
“We are excited to have Tom join our organization and oversee responsibilities for global finance, operations and IT,” said John D. Idol, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Tom is a veteran in the global consumer goods industry and a proven financial and operational leader.”
“I am excited to join Michael Kors,” said Mr. Edwards. “The Company has established itself as a leading global luxury fashion brand with a strong track record of producing compelling financial results. I look forward to working with John, Michael and the rest of the management team as Michael Kors continues to execute on its long-term strategic plan.”
Idol also expressed his gratitude towards Parsons, who helped develop the company’s turnover from 17 million dollars (16 million euro) to more than 4 billion dollars (3.75 billion euro).
