The number of visitors grew by no less than 37.3 % compared to the same period last year. Just over a billion surfers found their way to Zalando’s website, and the number of visitors using their mobiles to shop is growing even faster: almost 85 % of Zalando customers used a smartphone to visit the webshop.
The number of active customers increased by 17.5 % to 29.5 million. Zalando received 34.7 million orders in the past quarter, which is more than a quarter more than the figure from a year ago. The average order size did decrease by 1.9 % to 56.6 euros, but turnover rose by 26.7 %, to 1.52 billion euros. Zalando grew strongly in all regions, with growth in Czechia and Spain being particularly pronounced. Operating profit amounted to 6.3 million euros, which is a sharp improvement on the loss of 38.9 million euros a year earlier.
In the first nine months of the year combined, turnover increased by 20.7 % to 4.5 billion euros and the operating result tripled to 155 million euros. On the basis of these results, Zalando maintains its earlier forecasts for the entire year: a revenue growth around the low end of the range of between 20 and 25 % and an operating result of between 200 and 225 million euros.
