“Misleading and fraudulent”
Everything revolves around the famous slogan “Red Bull gives you wings”. The plaintiffs believe this implies that Red Bull is a superior source of energy. “But in reality, a can of Red Bull contains less caffeine than a cup of coffee. Red Bull’s marketing is therefore misleading and fraudulent”, Benjamin Careathers said.
Red Bull says it bears no guilt in the matter, but has decided to settle to “avoid the distraction and costs of a court case”. The company has offered a 10 dollar voucher to all plaintiffs or 2 Red Bull products worth 15 dollars.
According to American media, Red Bull might be coughing up 13 million dollars (10 million euro) because of this case. On top of that, it might set a precedent for future court cases.
