Trainer brand Skechers is launching its own e-commerce platform in the Benelux. Online shoppers can now visit the new websites skechers.be and skechers.nl.
Direct-to-consumer strategy
For the first time, Skechers has an e-commerce site under its own brand in the Benelux. The brand was already available online at multibrand stores and platforms like bol.com, Torfs, Zalando or Ziengs, but with the launch of this new e-commerce platform the brand takes a big step in the field of direct-to-consumer activities in the Benelux.
Country manager Maurice van Berkel sees the webshop as an extra asset for his company, giving Skechers the opportunity to present its brand, introduce new collections and target a wider range of consumers in the Benelux who may have been overlooked so far.
The launch of the Benelux webshop is in line with the brand’s international direct-to-consumer strategy: Skechers saw a sharp increase in online activity during the pandemic and therefore believes continued investment in the digital and e-commerce space is necessary. “This gives consumers the choice to shop where and when they feel most comfortable, whether that is from home or in our physical shops,” COO David Weinberg explains.
