Belgian lingerie manufacturer Van de Velde managed a slight turnover increase to 208.7 million euro in 2017. Its retail division performed markedly better than its wholesale division.
208.7 million euro turnover
2017 turnover grew 1 % and even 1.8 % at level exchange rates, which is slightly better than what analysts had forecast: Degroof Petercam had for instance forecast a 207.3 million euro turnover for the group which owns brands like Marie Jo, PrimaDonna and Andres Sarda. Like-for-like turnover did slump 0.7 % because of exchange rate fluctuations.
Its wholesale division also fell back slightly, down 0.3 %, but its retail division (which includes Rugby & Peller and Dutch Lincherie) achieved a 4.2 % like-for-like turnover growth. The company will reveal its full financial results and profit on 27 February.
