British clothing web shop Asos achieved tremendous growth across the European mainland and the United States in its fourth quarter. There was also strong growth in the United Kingdom, where its new, low-price strategy is paying off.
Largest growth in the United States
Asos’ total turnover grew 36 % in the fourth quarter, from 457.1 to 621.3 million pounds (710 million euro). UK turnover grew 18 % to 244 million pounds (280 million euro), while its international turnover shot up 52 % to 361.7 million pounds (415 million euro). Asos mainly made strides in the United States, with a 66 % turnover increase, while Europe also performed well (+ 44 %).
There was also a sizeable growth in its active customer base, up 25 %. The average spend per order grew 2 % while the order frequency went up 6 %, leading to 15.5 million orders in total (up 35 %).
