Structural reform
Prior to Given’s arrival in 2012, SuperGroup had issued several profit warnings while analysts were concerned with SuperDry’s rapid growth and the company’s subsequent failure to raise its infrastructure accordingly. Given was the driving force behind the company’s structural reform that helped its distribution network catch up.
The same analysts had praised Given for her work and they believe she has now been cast aside following an internal struggle. Sources within the company however indicate there had been no quarrels between her and the new CEO Euan Sutherland. She had merely finished her job and has therefore said goodbye, these sources claim.
“On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Susanne for her significant contribution to the growth and development of SuperGroup. Susanne played a crucial role in leading key investment programmes which have upgraded the infrastructure and processes of our business,” chairman of the board Peter Bamford said.
SuperGroup has already announced the position will now remain vacant and that the heads of UK Retail, IT and Logistics will report directly to the CEO from now on.
