Takao Kuwahara is now the official CEO for Uniqlo Europe, Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam Tam, which means he now leads 3 of Japanese Fast Retailing’s brands in Europe.
Fourth CEO in 5 years
Kuwahara has been Uniqlo Europe’s CEO since September 2015, after Berndt Hauptkom decided to leave the company. He was also appointed as Comptoirs des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam Tam’s temporary CEO as Christophe Chenut’s replacement. The company, Fast Retailing, now decided Kuwahara will become their new CEO, alongside his work as Uniqlo Europe’s CEO.
Japanese fashion company Fast Retailing wanted to have an insider to become the two brands’ CEO, after problems arose when it appointed someone from outside the company to lead both brands. Kuwahara will become the fourth person in charge of the two French brands since 2011.
