Ted Baker continues to operate online in the UK and Europe thanks to a new partner: the brand’s US distributor is taking its overseas operations. All of its physical shops have now closed.
New website, new start
Authentic Brands Group, the owner of Ted Baker, has struck a deal with its American partner to give the fashion brand a digital relaunch in the UK and Europe. Last week, the last European shops closed, but through e-commerce, the label continues to exist.
United Legwear and Apparel (ULAC) is already Ted Baker’s operating partner in the US and Canada and also distributes Sketchers, DKNY and Puma, among others, in North America. This autumn, the partnership will kick off overseas with a new website and new collections.
“We are confident that this relaunch will reignite enthusiasm for the brand and set the stage for a bright and prosperous future,” Chris Volpe, chief operating officer of ULAC, told RetailGazette. Recent talks with Frasers Group to take over the 31 remaining UK store failed, ruling out a physical relaunch.
