On 21 November, Vans is opening a flagshipstore on Oxford Street, in the heart of London. With this new store, the American brand intends to increase its presence in the United Kingdom.
A full range
The store has a surface area of 438 sqm and will offer Vans shoes, clothing and accessories. The goal is also to make the store the place to be for the brand’s skating and surfing range. The shop also is home to a Custom Lab, where shoppers can have their purchases personalised.
The store will officially open on 21 November, a day that the brand has baptised ‘Vans Checkerboard Day’ and that has become an annual event aiming to “promote and inspire creative expression worldwide”. During this event, Vans will also donate a million dollars to Imagination.org, a non-profit organisation that aims to stimulate the creativity of children worldwide.
The launch of the Oxford Street store is part of the brand’s wider transformation in the United Kingdom, FashionUnited reports. Existing shops, such as the store on Carnaby Street, have also been refurbished. Last month, the brand also opened a boutique, the first of its kind, in Covent Garden.
