Vinted is closing its second-hand platform for luxury brands, Rebelle, a year and a half after its acquisition. Its functionalities will be integrated into Vinted itself.
End of story
Both second-hand platforms will be merged under the Vinted brand, which should allow the Lithuanian second-hand marketplace to offer more luxury products. Rebelle users are invited to migrate to Vinted until 18 March. Rebelle founder Cécile Wickmann sees the end to her platform as “a new beginning”: she becomes Senior Director Luxury at the unified Vinted.
In October, Vinted had already integrated Rebelle’s verification process: a team of experts in Hamburg examines items bought through Vinted. That service is already available for hundreds of designer and streetwear brands such as Bottega Veneta, Celine and New Balance, but more brands will gradually be added.
Vinted Marketplace CEO Adam Jay calls the unification a “super logical next step”. He says that Vinted will now be able to offer a wider range of items and price points.
