Conflict between Volt and brewers
Normally, pints contain 5.2 % alcohol, but a test with beer gathered from several festivals, that does not seem to be the case. Levels ranged from 3.85 to 4.92 %, which is ‘misleading’ according to researcher Brecht De Causmaecker.
Several brewers dispute the results as they all confirm there is no difference between regular beer and beer destined for festivals. They all claim the research method is flawed, with AB Inbev doing three counter-tests which have allegedly shown there is nothing wrong with the alcohol levels.
