40 million bottles per year
Europe’s largest wine cultivator and France’s largest wine distributor have created a new judicial entity,
estimated to be worth some 42 million euro. Both companies own half of Listel,
as the new joint venture is called.
The new structure “will decide the brands’ growth strategy, in order to
quickly become a top player worldwide, particularly when considering the
production and trade of highly qualitative rosé wines coming from reputable
vineyards”, a joint press release has divulged. Listel hopes to sell 40 million bottles per year.
Vranken-Pommery currently has over 2,500 hectares of
vineyards. Castel on the other hand has 22 wine castles, representing some
14,000 hectares of French vineyards.
