From now on Belgian retailers can also connect their physical stores directly to the Zalando platform to sell their products online. C&A is one of the first partners.
“Being there where our customers shop”
Online retailer Zalando is further accelerating the roll-out of its partner programme and is now also inviting Belgian retailers to use its platform. The Connected Retail programme allows both independent retailers and retail chains to easily bring their stock online and make the products available to all Zalando customers. Retailers only need an internet connection and a printer, Zalando provides the software, online content, payment services, customer service and support.
One of the first retailers to join Zalando in Belgium is C&A. Zalando customers in Belgium can now receive their purchases directly from the C&A stores in Antwerp and Ghent. “We want to be where our customers shop: online and in our stores. Zalando Connected Retail as a platform for the modern and fashion-conscious consumer is a nice addition to our own channels,” says Mieke van Groningen, Head of Operations Benelux at C&A. The fashion chain also works together with Zalando in other European countries.
The Connected Retail platform already has a network of more than 4,000 active stores in twelve European markets. By the end of the year, this should be 6,000. Zalando is investing 50 million euros for this purpose this year.
