After five years of planning, construction, and gradual expansion, Zalando has officially opened its first mega-distribution center in France. The 140,000-square-meter complex in Montereau-sur-le-Jard, just south of Paris, will soon serve as a crucial link in the German e-commerce giant’s European expansion.
Gradual growth to full capacity
As early as 2021, Zalando founder and CEO Robert Gentz announced a 300 million euro investment in France during the Choose France summit. “Back then, it was just a promise. Today, this investment is taking shape in a 140,000 m² facility—one of the most beautiful and modern locations in our entire European network,” said Laura Toledano Khelif, Zalando’s Managing Director for Western Europe.
