AB InBev has appointed Chris Vanbroekhoven as its new Business Unit President for Belgium, France, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The 40-year-old Belgian will succeed Fabio Sala next month, and in turn gives his Dutch position to Jasper Kessels.
Eight breweries
With Sala becoming General Manager of AB InBev in China, Vanbroekhoven will take over the ‘BeNeFraLux’ region. The Belgian national has been with the brewing giant for sixteen years, holding various management positions in Belgium and the Netherlands. For the past four years, he was responsible for the Dutch market.
In his new job, Vanbroekhoven will manage a region with over 3,600 employees and eight breweries, five of which are in Belgium. His ambition is to continue strategic growth in these key markets, as well as to further develop the non-alcoholic beer segment. “The different countries each have their own dynamics, but our strong brands connect these markets”, he explained to news agency Belga.
Vanbroekhoven’s successor in the Netherlands will be Jasper Kessels: the 37-year-old has worked for AB InBev’s Dutch branch for eight years and is making the transition from his current role as director of hospitality.
