AB InBev and project developer Extensa are committed to launching the largest indoor food market in Europe in Gare Maritime, the commercial heart of Tour & Taxis in Brussels. The market should open its doors this autumn.
Victoria bar
The new food market will accommodate ten restaurants, cosy indoor terraces and trendy food stores. The objective is to provide a place for all tastes within the rich Belgian gastronomy, and AB InBev is calling on young talents and renowned chefs to do so. In the middle of the Gare Maritime Food Market, there will be a large bar with Victoria beer as the central brand. The operation of the food concept is an absolute first for the brewery.
“Our ambition goes beyond a qualitative culinary concept. We are also taking our social impact into consideration and want to forge a bond with the Belgians, the people of Brussels and the area surrounding Tour & Taxis”, Pieter Anciaux, Director Hospitality at AB InBev Belgium, says. “The Victoria Bar and the restaurants will be sourcing mainly locally. There will also be collaborations with food start-ups and farms from the area.”
