Looking for new perspectives
On Tuesday, Ahold Delhaize announced that the Supervisory Board intends to appoint Wiebe Draijer as a new member and Chairman. The appointment will be submitted to an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on August 8. Draijer will succeed Peter Agnefjäll, who has served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board since January 2021 and has been a member of the supervisory body since April 2019. Agnefjäll will step down on October 1, 2025.
Wiebe Draijer is well known in the Dutch business community. Until 2022, he was CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Rabobank. “I look forward to working with the Supervisory Board and Frans Muller and his leadership team to assist them in further strengthening our position in the market and driving the Growing Together strategy,” Draijer said.
Frans Muller, President and CEO of Ahold Delhaize, expressed his appreciation for Agnefjäll’s dedication and welcomed Draijer: “Peter has been a remarkable leader and has significantly contributed to the successful launch of the Ahold Delhaize Growing Together strategy. We are grateful for his dedication and leadership. Wiebe will bring new perspectives and valuable insights. We are excited to welcome him to the team and look forward to the company’s continued success under his guidance.”
