Aldi has decided to close its loss-making webshop at the end of September. The discounter now wants to concentrate on its core activities, having given up on the competition with Temu and Amazon.
Continued losses
In 2021, Aldi Nord and Süd opened a German non-food webshop through a joint venture. The online store sold a limited range of multimedia, DIY and household items, as well as pet food and wine. However, the webshop never became a big moneymaker and it is now decided it will close its virtual doors at the end of September, Lebensmittel Zeitung reports.
