Already a second printing of The Future of Food

Food13 December, 2021

Barely a few weeks after its launch, The Future of Food, the book by RetailDetail authors Jorg Snoeck and Stefan Van Rompaey, is already as good as sold out. Don’t worry: the second printing is coming soon.

Small stock available

Publisher Lannoo Campus has already sold out its stock of Dutch-language copies of the book The Future of Food – A New Recipe for the Food Sector by Jorg Snoeck and Stefan Van Rompaey. Delivery of the second edition is expected within two weeks. For the English version, there is still sufficient stock.

So sales of the book, which came onto the market only a few weeks ago, are going fast. Companies in the food sector are ordering large quantities for their employees. At RetailDetail, only a small stock is still available: you can order via this link. The book is also still in limited supply at a number of better bookshops and web shops. Readers in The Netherlands can buy from publisher Van Duuren Management and from managementboek.nl.

Laudatory comments

“Bookshops should actually put that book next to the till”, laughs Jorg Snoeck. “We had warned the publisher that it would go fast: we have experience of this. The Future of Shopping, which was named Management Book of the Year 2018, has now sold more than 20,000 copies. Next year, we will publish a new, fully revised edition of that book. The printer has already been alerted…”

The Future of Food outlines future paths for the food sector, which is at a tipping point. The central question is how we can continue to feed a growing world population in a healthy and sustainable manner. Top managers from the sector do not spare their praise. Frans Muller, CEO of Ahold Delhaize, made time for an extensive afterthought. Alexandre Bompard, the top executive of Carrefour, also gave the book his blessing, as did Jef Colruyt (Colruyt Group), Hein Deprez (Greenyard), Koen Slippens (Sligro) and Wim Destoop (PepsiCo).
