Belgian frozen vegetable giant Ardo has appointed Sabine Sagaert as its new CEO. She has been pinched from Vandemoortele, where she was in charge of the bakery products branch.
Familiar face
Following the departure of CEO Gabriëlle Kalkwijk, earlier this year, Ardo has found a successor in Sabine Sagaert, Belgian newspaper De Tijd reports. Sagaert’s last highlight at Vandemoortele was leading two important acquisitions: that of Banneton in the United States and Dolciaria Acquaviva in Italy, both specialising in frozen bakery products.
Sagaert is entering familiar territory at Ardo: being born quite near Ardo’s headquarters, she can count on a lot of experience with local food companies. Before moving to Vandemoortele in 2020, she was active at Cargill (one of the world’s largest family-owned agricultural and food companies). Before that, she headed Belgium and Luxembourg at AB InBev.
