For the first time ever, French vegetable manufacturer Bonduelle surpassed the 2 billion euro turnover milestone, thanks to a 16 % growth. For its current fiscal year, it wants to uphold that growth pace.
Ready Pac Foods acquisition
Bonduelle’s total turnover reached 2.288 billion euro for its past fiscal year. That was a 16.3 % increase compared to the year before. Operating profit grew 4.6 % to 108.3 million euro and net profit also spiked 11.4 % to 59.8 million euro.
European turnover remained level for the past fiscal year, but there was a 45.9 % increase outside of Europe. The strong surge was mainly because of its Ready Pac Foods acquisition in March. That was the company’s largest acquisition ever, but regardless, there was a 7.1 % like-for-like turnover increase. The entire group experienced a 2.7 % like-for-like turnover growth.
A strong last quarter (with a 1.6 % increase) helped Europe achieve a small 0.2 % increase overall, after weak harvests led to turnover drops at the start of the year.
For its current fiscal year, the company is mainly focused on the Ready Pac Foods integration and it forecasts a full-year 3 % turnover increase.
