British roots
Fashion company Burberry also has other brands, like Prorsum, London and Brit, but those brands will disappear by the end of 2016, leaving only Burberry as brand name. CEO Christopher Bailey says he wants to strengthen the company’s British roots as all of Burberry’s products, even those from other brands, are developed in London.
It has also revealed its plans to build a 50 million pound (70.5 million euro) new construction facility in Leeds, which should be ready in 2019. The manufacturing plant will mostly make raincoats and employ more than 1,000 people.
The British company was forced to lower its forecast, because Asian sales had fallen.
