French retailer Carrefour and Uber Eats have extended their grocery delivery collaboration beyond France. Two Belgian cities will also take part in the pilot, which promises delivery within 30 minutes.
Three countries
The two companies started their collaboration in Paris at the end of March, in which the meal delivery company delivers groceries in the region around Paris (Ile de France). Since then, the service has become available in almost a hundred cities all over France.
Belgium is next in line: in two Belgian cities (Brussels and Liège), Uber Eats will deliver groceries in half an hour. Moreover, the service will also deliver prepared meals. “Our customers in France and abroad will get easier access to home deliveries in this way, through channels that complement our own services”, e-commerce director Amélie Oudéa-Castéra stated in a press release.
Belgium is the third country in which both companies work together in this project, following France and Taiwan. In the latter, Uber Eats delivers Carrefour groceries in eight cities. As of yet, there is no word about expanding the service to Italy – which had been an aim at the start of the project.
