French retail group Casino, which also includes Monoprix and Franprix, is continuing with its planned rounds of job cuts. Amidst falling turnover and sustained losses, 2,200 jobs will be cut.
Heavy losses
In 2024, the French supermarket group recorded a net loss of 295 million euros. Despite being substantial, it still is a significant improvement compared to the record loss of 5.7 billion euros in 2023. However, turnover also fell: by 5.4 % to 8.5 billion euros.
