Groupe Casino and Amazon are expanding their partnership. Following in the footsteps of Monoprix, the supermarket and hypermarket chain is opening a store on the French premises of the American e-commerce giant. Customers will be able to pick up their click-and-collect orders.
Express deliveries
Amazon and Groupe Casino have been working together for three years now. Since 2018, subsidiary chain Monoprix has been offering a selection of products via Amazon Prime Now that can be delivered to the customer’s home within two hours. The service is available in most of the Paris region and the cities of Bordeaux, Lyon, Nice and Montpellier.
In addition, around 600 Amazon Lockers have been installed in the group’s various stores (Casino, Monoprix, etc.), where customers of the e-commerce giant can collect their orders. The aim is to increase this number in the future.
180 pick-up points
Building on that collaboration, Casino is now rolling out a new click-and-collect service. Amazon Prime members will soon be able to choose from more than 9,000 food items (national and private brands of Casino) and pick up their order at one of 180 Casino click-and-collect points that will be set up across France by the summer of next year. The first cities in which the service will be available are Annecy and Clermont-Ferrand. The launch is to take place over the next month.
