Within a year of CEO Alexandre Bompard’s arrival, Carrefour’s board is getting a major shake-up. Remarkable is that three of the four new independent directors have a lot of digital experience, which is no coincidence.
Four newcomers
If the General Assembly approves the changes on 15 June, usually a mere formality, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, Aurore Domont, Stéphane Israël and Stéphane Courbit will join Carrefour’s board.
Their names may not ring a bell, but “their experience and varied profile, in particular their digital and entrepreneurial spirit, will be important assets to execute the group’s transformation plan, Carrefour 2022”, former Fnac CEO Bompard said. Digitization is one of the new CEO’s major priorities.
Amélie Oudéa-Castéra has worked for insurance company AXA as their director marketing and digital; Aurore Domont chairs FigaroMédias and is a specialist in omnichannel comunication and digital transformation; Courbit is chairman of a audiovisual internet company. The fourth, Stéphane Israel, hails from the aviation industry (Arianespace) and aided the previous administration’s minister of Economic Revival as his cabinet manager for two years.
The four newcomers will replace Diane Labruyère-Cuilleret, Georges Ralli, Bertrand de Montesquiou and Anne-Claire Taittinger. The mandate for the five other directors (Patricia Moulin Lemoine, Mathilde Lemoine, Philippe Houzé, Nicolas Bazire and Alexandre Bompard himself) has been extended.
