From car tires to highbrow men’s fashion
Rivera only joined Scabal in June and had officially become its new CEO in September, as stated by the
fashion label. The Italian-born CEO has built up an extensive amount of
experience seeing how he has worked for smaller and large international
marketing, production and distribution companies. During his career he has
worked in several locations all across Europe.
A remarkable fact is that Rivera has no background in fashion, as he
had been the European retail director for tire manufacturer Bridgestone and the managing director retail EMEA for Goodyear Dunlop.
“Change manager”
He does have plenty of experience in ‘change management’ and has been
recruited to achieve the organizational
changes that “should enable Scabal to better accommodate the wishes of its
clients and its business partners”, according to the group.
The reorganization of the management team means that former CEO Gregor
Thissen will get a “newly created function”: he will become executive chairman,
focusing on long-term strategic issues, new market development and brand image. His father, Peter Thissen, will become
honorary chairman, advising Scabal creatively.
