Pay by hashtag
Cheap Monday opened 10 pop-up stores in 10 different cities for 10 minutes. To make the move even more bold, customers did not have to use money to pay – only with a Facebook like or tweet with hashtag #cheapmondayx10. The fashion brand aimed to give away 10,000 jeans in those 10 minutes, all to dedicated fans.
“Cheap Monday has a big following on social media. One of the most frequent requests from our fans is for us to open Cheap Monday Stores in their cities”, denim designer Carl Malmgren said. “As our fans around the world are very important and dear to us, we want to reward them. The 10 minute Pop-Up is our way of thanking them for all the loyalty, love and attention we have received during our first 10 years.”
At 10h this morning, the pop-up stores opened in 10 different cities. Fans could vote for their city online, with Amsterdam topping the poll in Europe, ahead of London, Paris, Berlin and Antwerp. Worldwide, the most votes were casted for Seoul and Hong Kong.
