As of today, Rose Mary, the central kitchen of Colruyt Group, supplies fresh meals in all 19 municipalities of Brussels. The expansion takes place only a few weeks after the launch in nine municipalities.
A new step
As of Wednesday 30 September, Rose Mary delivers fresh meals throughout Brussels, the company reports in a press release. It is a new step in a project with which Colruyt Group wants to respond to a trend that is alive among consumers: delivering fresh meals at home. In a so-called cloud kitchen in the Colruyt Group Academy in Uccle, a chef prepares seven different fresh dishes based on pure ingredients every day. Every fortnight, not only does the menu change, but a guest chef also comes along behind the cooker.
This week, Chef Ann Steyaert prepares a pumpkin lasagne with ricotta and Italian ham or a pokébowl with marinated salmon. Rose Mary’s meals are a handy alternative for those who don’t have time to cook for themselves, because they are ready to eat and only need to be warmed up, according to Colruyt.
Initially, Rose Mary delivered to nine municipalities in Brussels as a test. The retailer then stressed that this was a small-scale pilot project, intended to be learned from. Apparently, Colruyt learns quickly: just a few weeks after the launch, the concept is rolled out to the entire capital. Those who order in the morning at www.chefrosemary.be get their meal delivered at home or at the office by bike in the evening.
