Over the past quarter, pizza chain Domino’s managed to perform very well: turnover, like-for-like turnover and profit all skyrocketed, mainly thanks to its online division.
Strong online growth
Over the past quarter, Domino’s managed a 567 million dollar (510 million euro) turnover, up 17 % compared to the year before. Net profit even grew 25 % to 47.2 million dollars (40 million euro), which is a lot better than other fast food chains that are facing increased competition from alternative chains. However, Domino’s managed growth in the United States for the 22nd straight quarter.
American like-for-like turnover grew 13 %, while international like-for-like sales went up 7 %. Its major competitor, Pizza Hut, did not fare as well in the United States, with a 2 % like-for-like turnover drop.
Domino’s now also has a performant online presence, because 55 % of its transactions are made online and that percentage will continue to grow.
