Italian “slow food” retailer Eataly has just opened a first highway formula, in collaboration with food service specialist Autogrill. A weird paradox?
“Better food, better travel”
The new store is called “Eataly x Autogrill“, located on the busy A1 highway near Modena, frequented by both local and foreign tourists. These can get to know the richness of the Italian cuisine, under the “Better food, better travel” motto. Modena is in the Emilia-Romagna region, known for its strong gastronomic traditions and reputation.
An Eataly / Kimbo cafeteria, opened 24/7, is located on the first floor, while visitors can also visit a pastry counter, a salad bar, an artisan bakery with wood oven or eat traditional pasta dishes, Piemonte beef and ice cream.
On the second floor, there is a restaurant, able to handle 350 covers. On the menu is an actual Neapolitan pizza, made from biological flower and baked in a traditional wood oven. The new Eataly x Autogrill expects to attract 1.3 million visitors every year.
